I have seen many videos on YouTube about being able to cut wine bottles with string and fire. So yesterday I was in the mood to craft and tried it...I didn't have any 'cotton yarn', which is what some of the people in the videos said to use, so I used regular yarn from an ugly scarf I had. It worked on some old Skyy Ice bottles I had. But the wine bottles, not so much. Either I didn't soak the yarn long enough in the acetone, or the bottle didn't get hot enough. Or maybe the cold water it was supposed to go in afterwards was not cold enough...who knows ? But I plan on trying this again. But I will get some cotton yarn first !
I hope it works. The whole reason I tried this was to make a self watering planter out of the cut top half of the wine bottle. It looked so pretty on Pinterest.
I will keep you updated on the status of this project, and will send pics as well.

Happy Crafting,
